Where is the setup different?
Compare two legal entities, two environments such as UAT and PROD, or a live environment and a saved snapshot. Config Diff reads both sides, lines them up and shows only what differs.
- Read-only
- 345 configuration areas
- Edge and Chrome
- Snapshots stay in your browser

The one row that matters, found without writing a single value to D365.
One engine, three questions.
Why does this company behave differently?
Two legal entities in one environment: posting profiles, parameters, number sequences, warehouse setup. Company-specific keys are matched, not reported.
Is production set up like the tested environment?
Two signed-in tabs, two environments. Production is always read at a gentle pace, and you confirm before a run starts.
What changed since go-live?
Save a snapshot of an environment, compare against it any time, even with no D365 tab open. Snapshots stay in your browser and export to a file you control.
Findings, not a wall of rows.
- Summary firstDifferences per module and the top findings, before any detail.
- Coverage you can trustEvery area says compared, identical, not exposed or switched off by a configuration key. Nothing silently skipped.
- Readable valuesQueries and JSON fields are explained (joins, ranges, filters), not dumped as text.
- Accept a differenceMark what is meant to differ, with a note. It stays accepted next time.
- Secrets stay secretPasswords, keys and connection strings are redacted when read, before anything is stored or shown.
- Any entityCompare an entity outside the catalog by hand, for your own extensions.
- ExportsCSV and a self-contained HTML report for the release checklist.
- Transaction noise ignoredLast-run dates, counters and other values written by daily work are shown, never counted.
Config Diff covers standard D365 F&O setup. ISV and custom (extension) setup differs per environment and is not in the catalog: check it by hand, or compare single entities under Any entity.
Pay per person, not per customer.
A consultant works in many tenants, so the licence follows you, not the environment. Every plan starts with a 5-day trial in the extension, with no credit card.

Can Config Diff change anything in D365?
No. It only sends read requests, through your own session. A check in the build fails if any code tries to use another kind of request. See Security.
Does our configuration leave the browser?
No. Both sides are read in your browser and compared there. Snapshots are stored in your browser, and exports are files you save yourself. Only the licence check talks to our server, with your email, licence key and environment name.
Will it slow down production?
Production and unknown environments get a low limit on parallel requests and a confirmation step before a run. If D365 asks clients to slow down, Config Diff waits as asked.
We use ISV solutions and our own extensions. Are they compared?
Not in the catalog, because they differ per environment. You can add any entity by hand under Any entity; Config Diff then takes the key and fields from the entity’s metadata.
How do the trial and the licence work?
Start the 5-day trial in the extension with your work email, no credit card. After buying you receive a licence key by email; enter it in the extension’s options. A licence works on up to two browsers per person and keeps working offline for up to 14 days.
Who sends the invoice?
Payments are handled by Link, Stripe’s merchant of record. Link sends the receipt and the invoice, charges VAT where it applies and handles reverse charge when you enter your VAT number. You manage the subscription in the customer portal.
